CHANEL
fall-winter 2024/25

A winter escape to the sands of Deauville. That was the mood of CHANEL’s fall-winter 2024/25 ready-to-wear collection. Where sailor sweaters and dressing-gown-style coats lent a cosy touch, alongside the romantic elegance of diaphanous fabrications, designed to blow softly in the breeze.

‘Deauville is where everything started for the House. 1912, the creation of her hat shop and then very quickly the first clothes with their visionary, radical style. It’s where it all began for Gabrielle Chanel. This story is very close to my heart,’ confides creative director Virginie Viard. Who paid homage to that history through the oversized hats presented throughout the collection. And who took us on a journey to the beachside boardwalk by way of giant screens projected behind the models, which captured Deauville from dawn to dusk.

Characteristic of Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel’s own wardrobe, there was an effortless balance of masculinity and femininity throughout the fall-winter 2024/25 collection. Tweed suits and trousers meet silk blouses and delicate negligees, all swept up in a pastel palette of pinks, purples, and blues that capture the ever-changing magic of the Deauville sky.

‘It’s a very warm collection, with layers of materials, colours and volumes,’ Viard explains. ‘It pays tribute to Deauville, the legendary place where Gabrielle Chanel’s destiny changed forever.’
